Directed percolation in temporal networks

چکیده

Connectivity and reachability on temporal networks, which can describe the spreading of a disease, decimation information or accessibility public transport system over time, have been among main contemporary areas study in complex systems for last decade. However, while isotropic percolation theory successfully describes connectivity static similar description has not yet developed networks. Here address this problem formalize mapping concept network to theory. We show that limited-waiting-time reachability, generic notion constrained displays directed phase transition connectivity. Consequently, critical properties processes networks be estimated by set known exponents characterising universality class. This result is robust across diverse models with different topological heterogeneities, using our methodology we uncover transitions real too. These findings open up an avenue apply theory, concepts from well-developed literature

Weighted percolation on directed networks.

We present and numerically test an analysis of the percolation transition for general node removal strategies valid for locally treelike directed networks. On the basis of heuristic arguments we predict that, if the probability of removing node i is p(i), the network disintegrates if p(i) is such that the largest eigenvalue of the matrix with entries A(ij)(1-p(i)) is less than 1, where A is the...

Percolation in directed scale-free networks.

Many complex networks in nature have directed links, a property that affects the network's navigability and large-scale topology. Here we study the percolation properties of such directed scale-free networks with correlated in and out degree distributions. We derive a phase diagram that indicates the existence of three regimes, determined by the values of the degree exponents. In the first regi...

Generalized percolation in random directed networks.

We develop a general theory for percolation in directed random networks with arbitrary two-point correlations and bidirectional edges--that is, edges pointing in both directions simultaneously. These two ingredients alter the previously known scenario and open new views and perspectives on percolation phenomena. Equations for the percolation threshold and the sizes of the giant components are d...

Percolation of networks with directed dependency links.

The self-consistent probabilistic approach has proven itself powerful in studying the percolation behavior of interdependent or multiplex networks without tracking the percolation process through each cascading step. In order to understand how directed dependency links impact criticality, we employ this approach to study the percolation properties of networks with both undirected connectivity l...

Directed Percolation Universality in Asynchronous Evolution of Spatio-Temporal Intermittency

We present strong evidence that a coupled-map-lattice model for spatiotemporal intermittency belongs to the universality class of directed percolation when the updating rules are asynchronous, i.e. when only one randomly chosen site is evolved at each time step. In contrast, when the system is subjected to parallel updating, available numerical evidence suggest that it does not belong to this u...
